A very timeless and classic shape that has been used for generations to make open crowns that are subsequently shaped by hand, know by hatters as “Style 52”.
More slope in the front and back than the sides and a gently domed top.
Paired with BB97 traditional brim block for men’s trilby hats. Also known as a flange, this kind of brim is used for shaping brims that have already been cut to an even width. Rather than a string groove for the brim edge, there is a simple rope line around the base for tying on a protective sheet only. Once blocked, the front is flipped down for a very classic look.
Crown size 61cm, Brim 63cm. ***IF SEWING IN A LEATHER SWEATBAND, THE FINISHED HAT WILL BE 60cm***
Crown Height: 6″
OVAL 46 (Oval is longer oval than regular oval and is 46mm longer than it’s width).
Brim width: 2 3/8″ – 2 1/5″
